about

"Ferd" resulted from a lengthy immersion in Northland, a step in the wanderer's northbound Journey. And AURVANDIL have truly succeeded to drink from the Nordic waters of knowledge and walk through the forest and grief of Hordaland. What you can hear is something unique, raw & atmospheric, eerie and very indepth norse sounding black metal, as it would have been recorded 91 - 93, it has been a long time since a record was so bloody authentic. AURVANDIL managed here to revive the whole spirit of northern black metal so close to eternal elder giants, evoking the lost glory of early days. With "Ferd", a first trace has been left in the snow, but the journey continues...

“An incredible suite of psychedelicavant trancelike black metal dronemusic“ Quarius Records (USA)

"A sort of Burzum in even more extreme version"
Inferno Rock Magazine / Rock Hard (ITALY)

"If you think of old Enslaved in a simplified way with some ambient, I think you have a pretty good picture of what to expect on ‘Ferd’."
Lords of Metal (NL)

“The mixture of atmospheric Ambient Black Metal with minimalistic straightforwardness und tonal roughness is convincing."
Hateful-Metal zine (GER)

“It does what it does with vigour, passion and skill.”
Metal Team UK (UK)
